Job description
Position Summary: The IT Systems Specialist provides technical support and systems assistance across multiple MOVA locations, with primary responsibility for the Freeport office and additional support for remote sites. This role combines help desk escalation support with systems, application, and ERP troubleshooting, as well as basic reporting and data support. The position ensures reliable operation of end-user systems, business applications, and supporting infrastructure while serving as a key point of contact between users, IT staff, and vendors., + Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, network, and application-related issues.
- Serve as an escalation point for Help Desk tickets and assist in resolving complex technical problems.
- Support business applications and ERP systems, including user access, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and Linux systems.
- Assist in management of virtualization platforms including Proxmox and VMware, including virtual machines, storage, performance, and availability.
- Support integration of Linux systems and Active Directory for centralized authentication and access control.
- Assist with network infrastructure support, including VLANs, VPN connectivity, routing, and firewall configurations.
- Support containerized environments (Docker/LXC) and assist with database systems including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.
- Perform system monitoring, log review, and basic security analysis to support proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Support business reporting and data needs, including data extraction, validation, and operational reporting assistance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, processes, incidents, and resolutions.
- Work closely with IT leadership and infrastructure staff to improve reliability, performance, and support processes.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma required; Associate degree or IT-related coursework preferred.

2+ years of IT support or systems administration experience preferred.

Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and Linux environments and business applications.

Familiarity with IT service desk tools and ticketing systems.

Basic understanding of networking concepts and enterprise application support.

Experience with ERP systems or reporting tools is a plus.

Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Must be able to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Must be able to stand, sit, walk, reach and bend as required.

Must be able to sit at a desk and operate a computer for an entire shift.
