Job description

Client seeks a mid-level IT Project Manager to oversee planning and execution of mid-sized to large IT initiatives, including application, integration, and AI-enabled solutions. The role partners with business and technology stakeholders to manage requirements, resources, risks, and delivery across the full project lifecycle, adhering to governance, SDLC, and PMLC standards. Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end project management for complex IT initiatives (Guidewire, ClaimsCenter, PolicyCenter, AI integration) Manage day-to-day execution, documentation, scope, resources, risks, and delivery Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and technical teams Monitor project performance, report status, communicate risks, ensure compliance Manage cross-project dependencies, resolve conflicts proactively Stay current on emerging technologies and assess applicability to project delivery Manage large teams (20+), budgets ($1M+), and offshore teams Handle 2-3 moderately complex projects simultaneously

Requirements

5+ years IT project management (application development, data integration) Strong knowledge of SDLC, PMLC, PMO processes Experience in insurance or banking Proven experience with Guidewire, ClaimsCenter, PolicyCenter Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid methodologies MS Project, SharePoint Experience with offshore teams Nice-to-Have Skills: AI integration experience CPCU designation or advanced degree PMP certification General Qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills Effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder relationship-building skills Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent relevant work experience Winning Criteria: Integration Expertise: Proven hands-on success delivering large-scale, end-to-end IT integration, modernization, and application development projects involving multiple systems, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Hands-On Delivery Management: Strong evidence of day-to-day project execution including RAID management, dependency tracking, sprint/release coordination, cutover planning, executive status reporting, and issue resolution. Methodology Mastery: Strong expertise in Waterfall and Hybrid delivery models; must be comfortable operating in structured, non-Agile environments with formal stage gates and governance. Process Depth: Comprehensive working knowledge of PMLC and SDLC with demonstrated ownership of project charters, schedules, risk logs, communication plans, testing coordination, deployment, and operational readiness. Technical Delivery Alignment: Ability to work closely with architects, engineering, QA, infrastructure, and business teams to drive execution and translate business requirements into actionable technical deliverables. Industry Background: Preferred experience in Commercial Insurance (P&C) or Financial Services with understanding of policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, and core insurance workflows.
