Job description
As a Network Engineer at South Staffordshire Plc, you will play a critical role in delivering secure, resilient, and high-performing IT services across the organisation.
This is a hands-on technical role supporting both cloud and on-premise network environments, covering BAU support and major transformation projects. You'll work across a wide range of technologies, helping to maintain and enhance critical infrastructure while driving stability, security, and continuous improvement.

- Build, configure, test, and deploy network hardware and services across WAN and LAN environments
- Maintain and support network security infrastructure including Fortigate and Azure firewalls
- Diagnose and resolve complex WAN/LAN and connectivity issues, taking ownership through to resolution
- Support network projects including site rollouts, upgrades, expansions, relocations, and disaster recovery solutions
- Work closely with internal teams and third-party providers to deliver high-quality network services and support
- Ensure adherence to technical standards, operational procedures, and best practices across all activities
- Travel to UK sites as required and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in WAN?, * Full UK driving licence
- Ability to pass a security clearance check (Essential)
- Strong understanding of routing and WAN/LAN technologies, including Ethernet, SD-WAN, VPN, and MPLS
- Experience supporting Cisco networking equipment including switching and routing technologies
- Experience managing Meraki MX, MS, and MR environments
- Knowledge of network monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Experience with zero-trust or micro-segmentation technologies such as Zscaler or Guardicore
- Networking qualifications such as CCNA or CCNP
