Job description
- Guide enterprise transformations and lead contributions to connect, integrate, and modernize applications.
- Create and drive business and enterprise-level technical architecture roadmaps, evolutions, and transitions
- Use and develop consistent architecture patterns and practices across multiple teams
- Support application portfolio optimization and modernization through process and system transformations.
- Lead technical and design discussions with business teams and executive stakeholders to align on requirements.
- Partner with infrastructure, networking, and cloud teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
- Interact with functional and program teams, corporate service teams, and outsourced providers to guide application deployments and system migrations.
- Develop architecture artifacts associated with all phases of the TOGAF Architecture Development Method using Cameo and ArchiMate for formal modeling notations.
- Conduct technology assessments, proof-of-concepts, and pilot projects to validate feasibility and demonstrate value proposition to stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to agile development teams, to ensure the intended architecture is realized and best practices and standards are followed.
- Mentor front-line technical staff to elevate technical abilities and prepare them to step into the role of a solution architect.
- Mature Digital Technology's architecture practice by partnering with enterprise architects on shared principles, strategies, and implementation techniques. Contribute to growing the maturity and capabilities of the architecture and digital teams.
- Advocate for architecture by building key influence relationships and socializing architecture contributions across Raytheon.
- Lead and/or participate in SAFe planning events and ceremonies. Mentor and support architecture practices in SAFe.
- Help manage backlog, risks, opportunities, and focus areas to ensure visibility and team prioritization.
- Lead continuous improvement activities to improve productivity and reduce friction in delivering work products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Requirements
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience
- Experience leading and implementing technology transformation initiatives.
- Experience architecting, designing, integrating, and deploying enterprise-grade applications.
- Experience deploying and hosting applications with AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud providers.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience working as an Architect within agile frameworks, methodologies, and tools, such as Scrum, SAFe, Toyota Production System, etc.
Qualifications We Prefer:

- Strong critical thinking skills, ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity and ambiguity.
- Experience leading or working with virtual and geographically diverse teams.
- Ability to use abstraction and simplification to comprehend and communicate complex systems and ideas to different audiences.
- Formal architecture certifications or degrees, such as Zachman Certified Enterprise Architect, TOGAF, RTX Certified Architect, or Cloud Architect certifications; with successful practical application of such frameworks in organizational operating models.
- Strong technical expertise across multiple domains such as applications, data analytics, cloud, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
- Experience deploying and integrating large-scale software solutions in a highly regulated and secure industry environment through all lifecycle phases, using infrastructure as code and deployment automations.
- Persistence and focus in tackling long-term, complex challenges to achieve strategic objectives.
- Empathetic, people-focused leadership that fosters trust and builds strong partnerships.
Benefits & conditions
The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
