Job description
As part of the Cloud, DevOps, and Integrations team in our Field Experience Department, this position will solidify our foundations of DevOps and AWS Engineering. We are seeking an AWS Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS. This role will partner closely with development teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, observability, incident response, and overall platform reliability using modern DevOps and SRE practices. Previous mainframe development experience is a must, as this role will take an active role in modernizing mainframe implementations to the AWS platform.
What You'll Do:

Implement DevOps and CICD pipelines across dozens of Field Experience systems and technologies.

Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools).

Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployments, system reliability, and faster release cycles across development and production environments.

Monitor platform performance, availability, and security using observability and alerting tools, while leading incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements.

Collaborate with software engineering, security, and development teams to automate operational processes, improve system resiliency, and enforce DevOps and SRE best practices.

Ensure AI efficiencies and tool usage are maximized in design and development to free up engineering teams for more thought leadership, learning, and business partnership.

This role is well-suited for individuals who understand the operational rigor, stability, and scalability requirements of large enterprise environments and can apply that expertise to modernizing and migrating mainframe workloads to AWS. We value collaborative team members who are adaptable, curious, and motivated to bridge traditional enterprise platforms with modern cloud-native architectures and operational practices.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software engineering?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

10+ years professional experience in technology as a software engineer, programmer, architect, or similar role.

Well-seasoned mainframe development skills.

AWS Cloud development experience.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Can work independently to solve complex technical issues.

Strong data, database, and data analytics skills, especially in relation to business understanding of the data and how technology solutions can evolve around this understanding.
Preferred Skills:

Existing knowledge of the NYL Tech and Data ecosystem a huge plus+++

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
