- Oversee and maintain the AWS Organization and Control Tower environment.
- Design, review, and implement AWS cloud solutions for ITS and other state agencies.
- Troubleshoot complex AWS and network connectivity issues, including hybrid cloud and on-premises connectivity.
- Coordinate with AWS and third-party vendors for product integration and issue resolution.
- Mentor and train ITS staff to build internal AWS and cloud operations expertise.Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, playbooks, and operational procedures.
- Ensure AWS governance, security, and compliance using industry best practices.
- Support cloud architecture reviews, migration planning, and implementation efforts.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Training?, We are seeking an AWS Subject Matter Expert to support a state agencie's AWS cloud environment. This role requires a hands-on AWS professional with deep experience in cloud architecture, governance, security, troubleshooting, infrastructure as code, and technical documentation, who can help maintain and improve the AWS Organization and Control Tower environment, review and implement AWS solutions, resolve complex technical and network connectivity issues, support integrations with AWS and third-party vendors, and mentor ITS staff to strengthen internal cloud capability., * Deep knowledge of core AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, and related services.
- Experience leading cloud migrations or AWS implementations in complex, multi-account environments.
- Strong AWS network troubleshooting experience, including hybrid cloud and on-premises connectivity.
- Familiarity with AWS Landing Zone and Landing Zone Accelerator.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code, including CloudFormation, Terraform, and/or AWS CDK.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, network segmentation, and Service Control Policies.
- Experience with DevOps practices, containerization, Docker, ECS, EKS, and serverless architectures.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Professional-level certification.
- Experience supporting government or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, CJIS, IRS 1075, or similar compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of ITIL, PMP, Agile, or enterprise IT governance practices.
- Experience with hybrid-cloud technologies and other public cloud platforms.
- Scripting or programming experience with Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell., * Public Sector: 3 years (Preferred)
- IaC: 3 years (Preferred)
- AWS: 5 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- AWS Professional-Level Certification (Preferred)
