Job description

A client is seeking a Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) Engineer to join their Enterprise Integration Services team. This ARO Engineer will play a critical part in the team's priority of expanding the platform throughout their environment. This person will be responsible for managing and deploying containerized applications on Azure Red Hat OpenShift, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kubernetes, DevOps practices, and cloud technologies, particularly in Azure, with a focus on OpenShift container platforms., Manage, configure, and maintain Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) clusters

  • Deploy and optimize containerized applications using OpenShift Operators

  • Integrate and manage ARO with Azure services, including networking, monitoring, and logging tools.

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and implement GitOps workflows.

  • Ensure security and compliance through RBAC, container security tools, and regulatory standards.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Log Analytics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document operational processes and best practices.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in managing Kubernetes-based environments.

  • 3+ years of experience with Azure Red Hat OpenShift or OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).

  • Hands-on experience in Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD and GitLab is required.

  • Strong hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

  • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

  • Familiarity with service mesh tools like Istio or Linkerd.

  • Cloud Expertise: Proven experience working with Azure cloud services, including networking, resource management, and monitoring.

  • DevOps Skills: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and GitOps methodologies. - Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures and networking is preferred

  • Experience with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring tools is preferred
