Job description

  • Engineer, implement, and maintain Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) IaaS and PaaS services, including compute, storage, networking, load balancers, and database platform capabilities.

  • Own and support core OCI platform services, including tenancy structure, compartments, networking patterns, access models, and shared operational standards.

  • Design and deploy scalable, secure, and supportable OCI solutions using cloud engineering best practices and reusable patterns.

  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, or similar automation frameworks.

  • Develop automation for provisioning, configuration management, patching, backup activities, and operational workflows.

  • Administer and support Oracle platform services.

  • Configure and manage OCI networking components, including VCNs, subnets, route tables, security lists, network security groups, and connectivity patterns.

  • Implement and support observability capabilities using monitoring, logging, alerting, and event-driven automation to improve service reliability and operational visibility.

  • Partner with IAM, database, application, and security teams to define and implement secure, supportable, and well-governed platform solutions.

  • Respond to operational incidents, complex technical issues, and service disruptions; lead or support problem management efforts and provide clear status to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Support vulnerability remediation, secure configuration management, and control implementation across the OCI environment.

  • Participate in security incident response activities and support remediation efforts for cloud platform services.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation for architecture, standards, procedures, support models, and operational runbooks.

  • Provide day-to-day operational support and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to support business-critical services.

  • Support release activities, platform upgrades, maintenance planning, validation testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor compliance with enterprise information security policies, procedures, and audit requirements; support remediation of identified control gaps and process improvements., + Improves platform reliability, security, and operational maturity through automation and standardization.

  • Reduces manual effort by implementing reusable infrastructure patterns and efficient operational processes.

  • Partners effectively across teams to deliver stable, secure, and scalable OCI platform capabilities.

  • Contributes to a strong engineering culture focused on continuous improvement, ownership, and service excellence.

Requirements

Join Navy Federal's OCI Platform Engineering team and help modernize, secure, and scale our Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environment through cloud-first engineering, automation, and platform standardization. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who brings deep OCI expertise, strong infrastructure-as-code skills, and a platform mindset. The selected candidate will design, implement, support, and continuously improve core OCI services and shared platform capabilities that enable secure, resilient, and efficient delivery across enterprise workloads., + Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

  • Advanced experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in a hands-on engineering or platform role.

  • Strong knowledge of OCI core services, including compute, storage, networking, security and identity, and database-related services.

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and repeatable cloud provisioning practices.

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps automation, including CI/CD pipelines and scripting using tools such as Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, APIs, Python, PowerShell, and GitHub.

  • Working knowledge of OCI PaaS services, preferably Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Oracle Analytics Cloud, Fusion applications and other Oracle platform offerings.

  • Working knowledge of Oracle Autonomous Database services such as ATP and ADW.

  • Experience supporting patching, backup, recovery, and operational maintenance functions in a cloud environment.

  • Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational observability practices in cloud platforms.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, platform services, networking, and integrations.

  • Effective organizational, planning, communication, and time management skills.

  • 5+ years of experience working in a senior technical, engineering, or cloud platform role.

Desired Qualifications

  • Oracle Cloud certifications are preferred.

  • Experience with OCI governance concepts such as compartments, tagging, policy design, and platform standardization.

  • Experience with secrets management and secure credential handling solutions, such as OCI Vault, CyberArk, or similar tools.

  • Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments is a plus.

  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments preferred.

  • Experience collaborating across engineering, security, IAM, database, and application support teams.
