UNICOM Construction & Engineering Consultants, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Specialist to support and maintain the organization's information technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing network systems, servers, cybersecurity, technical support, and overall IT operations to ensure efficient and secure business performance.
This position is part-time with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Management
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.
- Implement and maintain network security measures.
System Administration
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade servers, hardware, and software.
- Monitor system performance and ensure maximum uptime.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Technical Support
- Provide technical assistance to employees and clients both remotely and on-site.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Support desktop, laptop, printer, and mobile device operations.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection
- Implement and monitor security policies and procedures.
- Manage firewalls, antivirus systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Conduct regular system updates and vulnerability assessments.
Data Management & Backup
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery systems.
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and security.
- Support data migration and storage management initiatives.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable IT regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, systems, procedures, and inventories.
- Assist in developing IT policies and best practices.
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, network administration, or a related role.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of network administration and server management.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of database management and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience with scripting, automation, and system monitoring tools.
Preferred Certifications
Candidates holding one or more of the following certifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Cisco CCNA
- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or equivalent
