Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Scrum Master in Orlando, FL. Overview: We are seeking a Scrum Master who can operate beyond traditional team-level facilitation and contribute within a scaled Agile (SAFe) environment. This individual will support delivery teams while also helping align efforts across multiple teams and program-level initiatives, acting as a bridge between Scrum execution and Release Train coordination. This is not a pure RTE role, but requires someone comfortable working adjacent to RTEs, with strong leadership presence, influence, and the ability to drive outcomes across teams. Key Responsibilities: Agile Leadership & Delivery:

  • Lead Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos
  • Partner with Product Owners to validate, prioritize, and communicate backlog items
  • Guide teams on story writing, splitting, and mapping techniques
  • Drive adoption of Agile/Scrum best practices with a focus on delivering business value-not just process adherence
  • Remove impediments and help teams achieve consistent, sustainable velocity
  • Coach teams to become self-organized, accountable, and high-performing

Scaled Agile/Program Alignment:

  • Work closely with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to align delivery across teams
  • Support coordination across multiple teams or workstreams, ensuring dependencies are managed effectively
  • Contribute to program-level planning, alignment, and execution efforts
  • Provide visibility into risks, blockers, and progress across teams
  • Operate with ART-level awareness, understanding how team delivery impacts broader program success

Coaching & Continuous Improvement:

  • Serve as the Scrum expert and Agile coach for the team
  • Assess and improve Scrum maturity, guiding teams toward higher performance at a sustainable pace

Promote engineering best practices including:

  • Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Requirements

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) (required)
  • 5-7 years of Agile/Scrum experience, including 2+ years as a Scrum Master
  • Hands-on experience in scaled Agile (SAFe) environments or multi-team delivery
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels, including RTEs and business leadership
  • Experience working with vendors and external partners

Experience in:

  • Retail/commerce platforms
  • Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Enterprise platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Symphony POS

Strong understanding of:

  • Software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Agile estimation, release planning, and retrospectives
  • Story decomposition and backlog management

Experience with:

  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Test-Driven Development (TDD)

Proven ability to:

  • Lead teams with influence and accountability
  • Work across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Remove impediments and drive delivery outcomes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) (preferred)
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) (preferred)
  • PMI-ACP or SAFe Agilist (SA) (preferred)
