Job description

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure and Network Engineering team within our Information Technology organization. Your job will be to design, implement, and support highly scalable and secure enterprise and industrial networking solutions across Symbotic's rapidly expanding operational footprint.

You will serve as a technical subject matter expert responsible for global connectivity, network security, SD-WAN, and wireless infrastructure across customer and corporate environments. This is a highly technical, hands-on role ideal for an engineer who thrives solving complex infrastructure challenges in fast-paced, mission-critical environments supporting advanced robotics and automation technologies.

What we do

The Infrastructure and Network Engineering team is part of the Information Technology organization which is responsible for building, securing, and supporting the network infrastructure that powers Symbotic's robotics automation systems, warehouse operations, customer deployments, and enterprise connectivity.

The team designs and maintains scalable, high-performance networking solutions across corporate offices, cloud environments, industrial automation facilities, and customer sites while enabling operational stability, security, reliability, and future growth.

What you'll do

  • Design and deploy scalable, highly available network solutions utilizing advanced routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, STP, and multicast architectures.

  • Lead network security initiatives leveraging Palo Alto NGFW/Panorama, Cisco Firepower/ASA, Check Point, and related firewall technologies.

  • Lead the implementation, migration, and optimization of SD-WAN solutions to improve application performance, resiliency, and global connectivity.

  • Design and optimize enterprise wireless environments using Aruba and Cisco wireless technologies, including RF analysis and wireless site surveys.

  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex network outages, performance degradation, and security incidents.

  • Support industrial and OT networking environments, including ruggedized switching technologies such as Cisco IE and Allen-Bradley Stratix platforms.

  • Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule approximately once every three months and travel up to 10% to customer and corporate locations as needed.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Wireshark?, * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology , Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of dedicated experience in Network Engineering supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.

  • Advanced expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 networking technologies including BGP, OSPF, STP, and multicast routing.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto NGFW/Panorama, Cisco Firepower/ASA, Check Point, or similar enterprise firewall technologies.

  • Experience deploying and supporting SD-WAN technologies such as Aruba EdgeConnect (Silver Peak) or Cisco SD-WAN, along with Aruba or Cisco wireless networking solutions.

  • Working knowledge of cloud networking and hybrid-cloud connectivity across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments, with experience using Wireshark or network monitoring and packet analysis tools.

  • Required certification: CCNP (Enterprise or Security) or PCNSE. Preferred certifications include CCIE, Aruba Certified Design Professional (ACDP), or equivalent advanced networking certifications.

Our environment

  • This position operates in a combination of office and industrial environments, with approximately 90% of time spent in active industrial and warehouse facilities and 10% in a traditional office setting. Team members may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, automated robotic systems, elevated noise levels, and varying temperatures within operational sites.

  • Candidates must be comfortable working in and around large-scale automation environments while following all required safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.

  • Travel up to 10% may be required to customer and corporate locations across the United States.

  • Disability insurance, The base range for this position in the posted location is $125,000.00 - $171,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
