Job description
The Software Engineer, Deploy III is a subject matter expert on NEXiA software technical troubleshooting, workflow, configurations, customer engagement, and consultation. Communication and knowledge sharing are major strengths. This role involves complex deployments, provides project leadership and mentorship, and drives process improvements and the adoption of technology or processes. The Deploy III partners work cross-functionally to enhance product installation and workflows, develop, pilot, test, and maintain automation scripts (using PowerShell along with other scripting technologies), and ensure scalable, high-quality customer implementations while bringing visibility of their efforts and the team's efforts through defined communication channels consistently.
What you'll do:
- Serve as team SME and highest internal support escalation point for NEXiA software implementations, upgrades, software-related projects, troubleshooting, workflow design, integrations, and configuration.
- Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts for customer-facing technical meetings, workshops, and go-live events
- Plan and execute structured deployment projects from discovery through post-go-live support
- Drive process improvements internally and cross-functionally, create runbooks, checklists, procedures, and establishbest practices for scaling deployments
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Quality teams to enhance the installer and workflow experience
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts as automation tools with documentation to improve deployment efficiency
- Mentor and coach Deploy II team members on technical and project leadership skills; run monthly knowledge sessions.
- Track and report on deployment metrics, readiness, and quality outcomes
- Manage escalations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Own the deployment methodology and standards for NEXiA; acts as final approver for deployment runbooks and change plans for multi-site programs.
- Lead multi-site / enterprise deployments with cross-vendor integrations, accountable for cutover risk, rollback criteria, and operational readiness reviews.
- Act as incident commander for deployment issues; conducts root cause analysis and drives corrective/preventive actions across Product, Engineering, and Quality.
- Own the automation backlog and PowerShell module library in ADO; sets code standards, reviews contributions, and ensures CI/CD integration for installer updates.
- Ensures the latest revision of scripted tools lives in ADO with execution documentation and change notes.
- Assist the team manager by maintaining the team calendar and actively modifying event details as they are known and adding notes describing why changes were made.
- Help develop other subject matter experts in iA's NEXiA software solution.
- Build strong client relationships across complex customer environments
- Mentor others in leading client-facing conversations on technical subjects for upgrades, implementations, or other software-related projects.
- Contribute to technical transformation thought leadership
- Demonstrate technical credibility and a consultative approach
- Partner with Product Management and Customer Success organizations to assure alignment with Internal and External clients
- Work closely with Software and Quality teams
- Help define the metrics and baseline for Post-Release Management Support
- Quickly differentiate user and process errors from system errors while escalating each as appropriate towards resolution
- Serve as a key resource to support the investigation of system anomalies
- Assist the product core team to meet project schedule
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software implementation?, * B.S.in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar realm
- 7-10+ years in software deployment/implementation; proven leadership of complex, multi-site go-lives.
- Advanced scripting portfolio using PowerShell (preferred), Python, Batch,or can prove the ability to learn the preferred language skills for automation and configuration management.
- Proven experience in NEXiA software deployment, technical troubleshooting, and customer consultation
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Windows Desktop OS, SQL Server, and virtualization technologies
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage risk, and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Ability and willingness to travel 50% or more
- Ability to work overnight and weekends if occasionally required

- Post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering
- Advanced query writing abilities in SQL Server
- Advanced Windows Server, MSSQL, VM, Active Directory, DNS, IT Experience
- Experience with modern DevOps practices:
- CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions)
- Configuration Management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible,SaltStack)
- Deployment Automation (Chocolatey, Windows Package Manager, PowerShell)
- Database Engineer / Architect / Administrator experience
