Job description

Computer World Service, Corp. (CWS) is seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) to perform as the Senior Network Engineer to provide network (i.e. local, wireless, and wide area network) sustainment and deployment support services to military hospitals and clinics located throughout the Pacific Region. Acts as the lead technical authority for Pacific Region network operations, providing enterprise-level engineering, escalation support, and architectural guidance for DHA network infrastructure.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary Pacific Region and global SME for LAN/WLAN/WAN operations
  • Lead resolution of complex network issues across all OSI layers
  • Provide advanced configuration, installation, and troubleshooting support
  • Guide network design, implementation, and modernization initiatives
  • Interface with Government, CSPs, GSPs, and external stakeholders
  • Develop standards, policies, and technical procedures
  • Perform performance analysis and proactive network optimization
  • Ensure compliance with DoD/DHA security and architecture requirements
  • Support firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, and Zero Trust implementations
  • Mentor and lead network engineering staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree + 5 years relevant experience or 10 years equivalent experience

  • Possess a mastery level of experience in routed, switched and shared LAN environments that operate such items as current supported versions of Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX and OpenVMS and employ routers, switches, and terminal servers as well as various local and long-haul WAN connectivity. Extensive experience with:

  • Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Network tools (SolarWinds, Ansible, ARMIS)
  • Enterprise LAN/WAN environments
  • Experience with deployed DoD Systems
  • Experience with DoD Health Care Information Systems is preferred

Certifications

  • IAM Level III (DoD 8570/8140 compliant) - An active CISSP certification is required
  • CCNP certification or ability and willingness to obtain this certification

Security Clearance

  • Candidates must have active Secret clearance

Work Environment: Work must be performed in Government facilities within the Pacific Region.

Hybrid: Some hybrid work may be approved by the government customer. Travel: Potential travel to military hospitals, clinics, and remote sites located throughout CONUS and OCONUS.

$125,000 - $165,000 a year

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity. The posted range is appropriate for a typical candidate meeting, at a minimum, all the core requirements of the position.
