Job description
Within this challenging role, you are responsible for managing and optimizing our database environments, reviewing and executing SQL scripts delivered by the development team, and processing and analyzing data to provide operational and strategic insights., * Support the management, maintenance and optimization of our SQL Server database environments, both on-premises and in Azure.
- Review and execute SQL scripts delivered by the development teams, while helping to ensure smooth and reliable deployments.
- Contribute to the stability, performance and continuity of the overall database landscape.
- Assist in backup and recovery processes to help safeguard mission-critical databases.
- Write and modify SQL queries, stored procedures, views and scripts to support operational needs and continuous improvement.
- Monitor database environments proactively and investigate issues when they arise.
- Support the analysis and processing of data to help generate operational and business insights.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide technical support to internal stakeholders where needed.
- Collaborate closely with Development, Infrastructure and other stakeholders to improve the overall database environment.
- Continuously build knowledge in database administration, security, automation and Azure technologies.
Requirements
Do you have experience in T-SQL?, * Relevant IT degree and a first professional experience in database administration, data engineering or a similar technical role.
- Solid foundation in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL and SQL Server Management Studio.
- Good understanding of core database concepts such as relational databases, data integrity, normalization and query optimization.
- Basic understanding of high availability, disaster recovery and database security principles.
- Interest in Azure and motivation to further develop knowledge of cloud-based database environments.
- Interest in scripting and automation; knowledge of PowerShell, Perl or Python is a plus.
- Analytical, accurate and motivated by solving technical problems.
- Hands-on, eager to learn and comfortable taking ownership.
- Clear communicator who collaborates well with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Good command of Dutch and English.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes and data modelling.
- Experience with SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
- Knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Knowledge of Dynatrace, SolarWinds DPA, Databricks, Debezium or Kafka.

Working Hours & Additional Leave
- Full-time contract of 38 hours per week
