DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer

The role involves defining and managing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, ensuring scalable systems, and supporting development teams. My team is shaping the future of IoT security., * Assist in defining and managing runtime infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), covering basics like networking, databases, and proxies for both cloud (AWS, Azure) and on-prem setups.

• Contribute to building secure, stable, and scalable systems, following network and security best practices-with support and guidance from senior teammates.
• Help implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting tools so teams understand and support their applications easily.
• Support development teams with CI/CD processes-build pipelines, testing, packaging, and deployment workflows.
• Spot repetitive tasks and help automate them, promoting self-service and operational efficiency across the team., * Access essential systems and tools (cloud accounts, Git repos, CI/CD platforms).
• Intro to the team, key contacts, and communication channels.
• Review infrastructure and automation standards.

Week 2:

• Guided walkthroughs on core infrastructure and deployment pipelines with a mentor.
• Study documentation and complete foundational training: IaC basics (Terraform), cloud environments, monitoring tools.
• Shadow and assist on small tickets: updating automation scripts, improving basic network setups, adding monitoring/alerting components.
• Pair programming sessions for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure code.
• Take ownership of a mini-project-implement a monitored service, automate a repetitive task, or contribute to a deployment workflow.
• Regular check-ins with team lead/mentor to review progress and set new learning goals.
• Regular catch-ups with peers.
• Scheduled follow-ups with manager to review progress and set development goals.
• Keep a log of questions, blockers, and suggestions for process improvement.
