You will be part of the team responsible for operating one of the largest and most complex hosting platforms in Europe. Your mission will be to ensure the stability, performance, and evolution of the Stretch platform, working directly on critical production systems and contributing to the continuous improvement of a highly distributed infrastructure. This is a strongly technical role with hands-on impact at scale, where your work will directly influence service quality and platform evolution. You will collaborate closely with Hosting Technology teams and other web hosting teams within IONOS, with frequent interaction with international colleagues-particularly in Germany-to consolidate knowledge of existing systems. Responsibilities

  • Operation, maintenance, and evolution of large-scale Linux infrastructure.
  • Advanced (Level 3) support for complex platform incidents.
  • Automation of processes using scripting (BASH, Python) and infrastructure tools.
  • Operation and management of distributed storage systems (Ceph).
  • Monitoring and analysis of the platform using observability tools (Grafana and similar).
  • Continuous improvement of system architecture and stability.
  • Collaboration with international teams to absorb knowledge from legacy systems.
  • Participation in on-call rotation.

Requirements

IONOS Group is looking for a Linux System Administrator to join their team in Seville, Spain. Your responsibilities will include the operation, maintenance, and improvement of a large-scale Linux infrastructure, automation using BASH and Python, and management of Ceph storage systems. The role requires strong technical skills, collaboration with international teams, and offers a hybrid working model across various offices. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in Linux administration and fluent English for international communication., * 3+ years of experience in Linux system administration.

  • Strong scripting skills in BASH and Python.
  • Experience with configuration and automation tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Ceph storage clusters.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana.
  • Fluent English is required., Must have
  • +3 years of experience in Linux system administration.
  • Strong scripting skills in BASH and Python.
  • Experience with configuration and automation tools such as Puppet or SaltStack, Ansible or Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience operating Ceph storage clusters in production environments.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana.
  • Fluent English, required for international communication.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in highly distributed or high-availability environments.
