Job description

Backend-leaning Staff Engineer to modernise a core CRM and build AI-driven agent capabilities

We're supporting a propety-tech organisation undertaking a major modernisation of an established CRM platform, alongside building autonomous, AI-driven workflows directly into core business processes.

This role is strongly Back End-focused, requiring deep .NET engineering expertise, combined with proven experience building agentic AI systems in production.

The Role

  • Rebuild and enhance core CRM functionality within a live production environment
  • Lead Back End development using .NET/C#, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability
  • Work across the stack where needed (TypeScript/React) but with a clear Back End-first focus
  • Design and implement:
  • Autonomous agents
  • Self-learning systems
  • AI-driven workflow automation platforms
  • Integrate AI capabilities directly into core product workflows and business processes
  • Drive incremental modernisation of Legacy systems (brownfield environment)
  • Apply strong engineering principles, system design, and architectural thinking
  • Contribute to technical direction, standards, and scaling the platform

What They're Looking For

  • Senior AI Engineer with a strong traditional software engineering background
  • Deep expertise in .NET/C# Back End development (this is the core requirement)
  • Proven experience building production-grade AI systems, specifically:
  • Autonomous agents
  • Self-learning systems
  • Workflow automation platforms
  • Experience working on complex, production systems and modernising Legacy platforms
  • Strong grounding in system design, API development, and architecture
  • Comfortable working across the stack when required (TypeScript/React)
  • Pragmatic, engineering-led mindset, focused on robust, scalable delivery (not just experimentation)
  • Strong communication skills, being comfortable discussing technical concepts with non-technical stakeholders

Core Tech Stack

  • .NET (primary and essential)

  • AWS (essential, not flexible on Azure)

  • TypeScript/React (important)

  • AI/LLM stack (essential):

  • Hands-on experience building agent-based systems and AI workflows in production

  • Strong understanding of LLM integrations, orchestration, and real-world deployment

Working Model & Contract Details

  • 6-month contract (extensions likely)
  • £900 per day - Outside IR35
  • Fully remote (UK-based)
  • Occasional office attendance may be required
