Job description
We are looking for a Junior System Administrator to join our IT team and help keep our technology backbone running smoothly. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you will support everything from end-user workstations to the servers, networks, and security systems that power our operations. You will work side by side with our Senior System Administrators on day-to-day support and larger strategic projects, gaining exposure to enterprise infrastructure, manufacturing systems, and cloud platforms along the way.
This position is a strong fit for someone early in their IT career who is eager to learn, takes ownership of their work, and wants room to grow into more advanced responsibilities.
What You Will Do
- Partner with Senior System Administrators on both short-term ticket requests and long-term IT projects
- Maintain and administer company networks and computing environments, including hardware, systems software, and configurations, with security always front of mind
- Provision new systems for end users and manage equipment setup for new hires, terminations, and transfers
- Provide responsive end-user support by phone, email, instant message, remote session, and in person
- Support and troubleshoot Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Office 365, Teams, Dynamics, Microsoft Project, and engineering software including SolidWorks, Creo, and Mastercam
- Create and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS configurations on servers
- Handle break-fix resolution for printers, desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, including iOS provisioning
- Provide asset management support across hardware, software, and conference and display technology
- Coordinate with vendors to secure support and replacement of faulty parts and services
- Assist with the installation and coordination of network security measures that protect company data, software, and hardware
- Research emerging technology and recommend implementation opportunities
- Document systems, processes, network diagrams, and ticket resolutions thoroughly
- Meet or exceed established departmental SLAs and ticket response times
Requirements
Do you have experience in iOS?, Do you have a Trade school?, * Associate degree in Computer Science, an equivalent certificate, or completion of an accredited trade school or computer training program
- 2+ years of experience in the information technology field
- Good Windows Server implementation and administration skills
- Solid Windows client OS troubleshooting skills across laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
- Fair knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange Server
- A strong understanding of server virtualization
- Fair understanding of LAN and WAN networking
- Cloud platform management and support experience, including provisioning, patching, and monitoring servers across production, staging, development, and cloud environments
- Working knowledge of backup solutions, platforms, and retention principles
- Information security experience and a security-first mindset
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI platforms to leverage productivity
- Spanish language skills (a plus, not required)
- Willingness to design, build, support, and maintain complex IT support software
