Job description
A professional level position within the Information Technology Services Unit of the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. The person filling this position is expected to have a broad knowledge of technical skills to diagnose and resolve issues pertaining to standalone and interconnected systems including hardware, software, peripherals, and network devices. The person in this position may be an IT generalist or an employee with multiple technical specialties such as system administration, network administration, web development, etc.
The candidate filling this position will work closely with and report to the college IT Manager. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Excellent communication and organizational skills needed. The IT Professional will collaborate with other IT professionals in the unit to deploy and support networked Windows and MacOS desktop systems for individual users and a lab environment.
Experience and knowledge of Windows and MacOS for support and configuration, MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud and other desktop applications such as various email clients. Successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work independently and as a member of a small team. Physical Demands Sitting for long periods, working with a keyboard, mouse and monitor. - Install, standardize and troubleshoot desktop systems in a complex office or lab environment using modern operating systems.
- Assist clients with questions regarding Information Technology use and practices.
- MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud and other desktop applications, including various email clients
- Hardware knowledge and basic printer troubleshooting.
- Reserve and maintain the college's checkout laptops, portable projectors.
- Assist with the management of the college IP addresses.
- Assist with imaging and configuration of hardware for deployment.
- Assist with Active Directory management, joining PC's to the domain and some Group Policy configuration.
- Assist in print server administration.
- Assist in MDT management to ensure applications repository is updated and maintained.
- Assist other members of the IT staff with various ongoing projects. Percentage of time 50

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
