Java Developer - Mainframe Modernization

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer with strong expertise in both Mainframe and Java technologies to support a large-scale modernization initiative. This role will focus on transforming legacy Mainframe applications into modern Java-based solutions while maintaining critical enrollment and API-driven systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with COBOL, Java, Spring Framework, AWS, and Agile development methodologies., * Design, develop, test, and support enterprise software applications and enhancements.

• Analyze business requirements and create scalable technical solutions.
• Modernize Mainframe applications and migrate functionality to Java-based platforms.
• Develop, maintain, and support REST APIs and enrollment-related services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues while ensuring system reliability.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders on application enhancements and modernization efforts.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow DevOps, CI/CD, and software development best practices.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-8 years of software development experience.
• Strong Mainframe experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, ChangeMan, and Topaz.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Core, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Mainframe modernization and migration initiatives.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working with AWS Cloud services.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with API Management tools.
• Knowledge of Git and BitBucket.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications.
• Experience working with enrollment, customer, vendor, or healthcare-related data integrations.
