All candidates must be eligible to work and live in the U.S Department Student Union - 335100 Primary Purpose of Position The Technology Support Analyst is responsible for coordinating and supervising the usage of permanent and portable audio-visual equipment across App State's campus. Specific responsibilities in this regard include:
- Supervision of the audio-visual production staff
- Coordination of staff work assignments
- Coordination of all technical training for professional staff and student employees
- Event supervision where equipment is used
- System troubleshooting
- Repair and maintenance of equipment.
The position is also responsible for supervising all video production activities for the University coordinated through the Mountaineer Audio Visual team. - Provides support and supervision for a large array of complex audiovisual hardware and digital signage throughout the University campus through Mountaineer Audio Visual.
- Additionally, this position provides support of staff computer hardware, which includes basic support of applications and operating systems.
- Production management for live streaming, event lighting and video production
- Responsible for the daily set-up, check-out, and instruction for the usage of AV equipment.
- Conduct daily inspections to maintain inventory control (proper location and stock) of audio-visual equipment and supplies in designated audio-visual storage locations.
- Ensure systems for in-house music broadcast are working properly
- Responsible for training and supervising the audiovisual and production staff which includes student workers, and temporary employees.
Requirements
Several ways to meet the minimum requirements for this role:
- Graduation from a two year technical college with a major in computer science, information technology or related area and one year in the information technology field related to the position's role;
- or graduation from a four year college or university and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role;
- or graduation from a four year college or university with a major in computer science or information technology or related degree.
Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education., * Competence with various audiovisual systems in use campus-wide
- Knowledge of various software tools used across the university
- Ability to manage relationships with colleagues from various departments across campus
- Skill in managing public relations
- Ability to problem-solve in the moment
- The ability to effectively communicate with others using both verbal and written skills.
- Must pass a criminal background check, * A bachelor's degree, with an emphasis in an appropriate technical or sound engineering field or in the student center management or hospitality field.
- At least two years experience in a position that involves facility management and personnel supervision, and a background in hospitality, conference or theatrical operations.
- Current knowledge of hardware and software used across campus a plus.

Benefits & conditions
Typical work schedule is from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed for event support. Number of Hours Per Week 40 Number of Months Per Year 12 Mandatory Staff Yes Physical Demands of Position Work is technical, supervisory and programmatic in nature and requires some physical effort. The Technical Manager does complete audio-visual equipment set-ups and breakdowns for scheduled events when necessary. Overall Competency Level Contributing Salary Grade Equivalency Salary Range Anticipated Hiring Range $50,000 - $51,418 Pay will be commensurate with applicant competencies, budget, equity and market considerations.
