Job description

We are seeking a Data Analyst I to support operational reporting, data analysis, and business process improvement initiatives for a leading healthcare organization (Blue Cross Blue Shield). The ideal candidate will work closely with business teams to extract, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency., * Extract data from multiple systems using SQL and other data tools for recurring, ad hoc, and cyclical reporting

  • Develop reports, dashboards, and analytical models to support business operations
  • Analyze data trends and summarize findings for management and stakeholders
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions
  • Maintain and enhance recurring reports with a focus on automation and accuracy
  • Present insights and recommendations to business users in a clear and actionable manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Healthcare, or related field
  • OR equivalent experience (2-year degree + 2 years experience OR 4 years relevant experience)
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work with complex data sets and perform statistical analysis
  • Understanding of reporting systems and data workflows

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Tableau, Power Automate, Python, or GitHub
  • Experience with SAS, DB2, or other relational databases
  • Healthcare data experience (ICD-9 / CPT coding knowledge a plus)
  • Strong consulting, requirement gathering, and stakeholder management skills

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work model (3 days onsite per week)
