Job description
As a Support Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usability of technical data that supports aircraft maintenance and operations. Your work will directly impact safety, efficiency, and performance by delivering high-quality technical documentation used by teams around the world., * Develop and maintain technical publication elements for aviation systems, including:
- Theory of operations
- Flight manuals
- Troubleshooting and testing procedures
- Illustrated parts breakdowns
- Installation/removal procedures
- Schematic diagrams
- Analyze and validate technical source data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Identify and resolve data gaps, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies with original sources
- Conduct quality checks and peer reviews to ensure compliance with customer standards
- Collaborate on and mark up technical illustrations to enhance clarity and usability
- Update publications based on engineering changes, reviews, and equipment modifications
- Support customer verification reviews and implement corrective actions
- Assess the impact of design and documentation changes on technical publications
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience with tactical aircraft avionics systems (flight controls, radar, communications, weapons, power distribution, etc.)
- 1+ year of experience working with aircraft maintenance technical data and publications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), * 2+ years of aircraft maintenance experience (military or civilian)
- Experience authoring aircraft technical documentation
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, 3D models, and vendor data
- Familiarity with S1000D and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs)
- Working knowledge of XML and tools like Contenta
