Job description
We are seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to join our recently formed DevOps team. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, collaborate, and grow in a fast-paced environment. You will assist in building, managing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, support cloud deployments, and contribute to infrastructure automation. If you have foundational experience with CI/CD tools and cloud platforms, and can speak confidently about DevOps concepts, we want to hear from you, * Build, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for application builds, testing, and deployments.
- Monitor pipeline runs, troubleshoot failures, and implement improvements for stability and efficiency.
- Participate in pre-release checklists, change management, and rollback validation processes.
- Assist with environment provisioning and contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Support secure configuration practices, including secrets rotation and service authentication.
- Help integrate telemetry and logging for pipelines; contribute to dashboards for build and deployment health.
- Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge-sharing materials for team use.

Core Competencies
- DevOps & CI/CD: Strong understanding of DevOps principles with hands-on experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Pipeline Monitoring & Optimization: Ability to monitor pipeline runs, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability and efficiency.
- Cloud & IaC: Foundational experience supporting cloud deployments and contributing to Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Release & Change Support: Familiarity with pre-release validation, change management, and rollback processes.
- Security Practices: Working knowledge of secure configuration, secrets management, and service authentication.
- Observability: Exposure to logging, telemetry, and dashboards for building and deployment health.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Capable of creating runbooks and SOPs; collaborative team contributor with a strong learning mindset.
Work Environment
This position performs its duties from the New Braunfels, TX office. The role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, mobile devices, and related technology.
Physical Requirements
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to type, scroll and use computer equipment. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer and multiple screens; extensive reading; visual inspection of text/data in both print and electronic forms.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours worked are dependent on business needs and workload. General availability during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, is expected. Based on the candidate and /or position, a hybrid work arrangement may be considered; however, a minimum of three (3) or more days per week in the office is required to support executive collaboration, leadership presence, and cross-functional engagement. Some flexibility is allowed. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
There is no major travel requirement for this position. However, infrequent travel may be necessary to visit remote office(s), attend conferences/industry events, etc. Attendance at our corporate Staff Retreat is required. This event is a 2-3-day retreat. Attendance at our annual User Conference as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in DNS?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Minimum 1-year hands-on experience with Azure (preferred) or any major cloud provider, OR a relevant certification (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with pipeline concepts and tools (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) through academic or personal projects.
- Basic proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Understanding of OS basics (Linux/Windows), networking (DNS, TLS), and container concepts.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS).
- Experience with Azure DevOps ecosystem (Boards, Repos, Pipelines).
- Awareness of observability and security for best practices.
