Job description

The Cloud Automation Engineer enables cloud to provide optimal performance, continuity, and efficiency in virtualized, on-demand environments. Enables the automation of software code deployment by eliminating functional silos existing between development and production. Identifies and implements solutions (hardware and software) for improvement of the high-quality automation infrastructure. The Senior Cloud Automation Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Cloud Automation Engineer utilizes software that manages and monitors networks, systems and applications not only to guarantee performance to cloud software environments but also to better orchestrate and automate provisioning of resources. Promotes infrastructure automation, flexible collaboration and communication between development, security, compliance, testing, monitoring and production teams. Optimizes the release process by leading teams to identify gaps and eliminate barriers to enable increased frequency of accurate code deployment. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

The Cloud Automation Engineer will be responsible for:

Partner with application teams to provide overall infrastructure guidance & assistance

Infrastructure automation modules

Infrastructure & application automation pipelines

Infrastructure deployment activities

Orchestrate problem resolution efforts in an application's cloud migration journey

Identify opportunities to enhance current application automation processes

Identify new infrastructure automation opportunities

Connect the dots to quickly to know where to seek assistance

Act as a Technology bridge between the App team and the different on-boarding teams to assist in App's migration journey to Azure 3.0 environment

Influence the Domain Leaders and SMEs to deliver results

Mentor and instruct the work of other technical staff to continually improve an application's onboarding efforts to Cloud 3.0

Prioritize projects based on customer needs and timelines

Requirements

Multi-task with a variety of application and infrastructure teams

Effectively communicate project status and timelines to leadership

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

3 to 8 years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure

Experience with migration orchestration between different technology providers during an application migration journey

Experience with Azure and GCP cloud platform infrastructure and architecture

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (github, ADO, Jenkins, Argo, etc.), container deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), and cloud automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc... )

Excellent troubleshooting skills

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Comfortable with ambiguity, independent development, tight, multi-faceted timelines

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree, WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

About the company

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.
