Job description

The Network Architect/Administrator position is responsible for providing support to USG architecture planning for a CENTCOM Partner Network (CPN) technical refresh and expansion; procurement, installation and configuration of CPN client hardware/software; procurement of CPN software licenses; installation and configuration of CPN related networks with associated communication security devices (COMSEC). The position will require operations support, maintenance, system administration, sustainment and training for CPN, Agile Client, and associated networked sites.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years of experience in technical specifications development, process analysis and design, technical problem solving, and analytical/logical thinking.

  • At least three (3) years of experience with the CENTCOM Partner Network and Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIX).

  • Three (3) years of experience as a system manager/integrator in integration and implementation of IEEE 802.3 Local Area Network (LAN), IEEE 1703-2012 Wide Area Network (WAN) and converged IP-services that leverage COTS information technologies to deliver enhanced mission capabilities.

  • Three (3) years specialized experience in enterprise and campus-wide WAN/LAN infrastructures in allied military (FMS) shore facilities worldwide, including Command & Control centers, Operations Centers and logistics support centers.

  • Experience with information sharing through the use of email and Web services, instant messaging or chat, the Common Operational Picture service, and Voice over IP.

  • BS degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Mathematics (additional training, technical certifications and/or experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree).

  • DoD 8570 IAT-II certification (satisfied by holding, for example, Security+).

  • Current, unexpired U.S Passport.

  • Extensive experience with troubleshooting Microsoft OS (Windows 7/10), Windows Server 2012 R2, Active Directory, Microsoft Office suite, VMWare virtual servers, Cisco networking (routers and switches).

  • Experience with troubleshooting and managing cryptographic encryptions (KG-175D, IPS-250, STE phones, simple key loaders (SKL), TACSAT radios, etc.).

  • Experience with COMSEC maintenance and administration.

  • Ability to work independently and clearly communicate progress, status, and challenges to leadership.

  • Security+ and one of the CISCO certificates or Network+.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, MCP Windows 7, Cisco CCENT, Windows MCSA, ITILv3.

  • Remedy Help Desk, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, thorough understanding of TCP/IP based networking.

  • Must be capable of physical activities such as moving printers, workstations, scanners and other items up to 40 lbs.

  • Experience with image/load set deployment in an enterprise environment (Norton Ghostcast, PXE, image cloning).

  • At least three (3) years of experience with the System Administration of the following systems, + Cisco Equipment

  • Cryptography devices
  • Strong level of network transport and cyber security technologies.

  • Understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals (e.g. DNS, FTP, SSH, ACL, VLAN, DMZ, BGP), general networking technologies, network architecture and connectivity troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge to describe and troubleshoot routing and switching issues to Senior Military personnel.

  • Thorough understanding of VPN Technologies (IPSEC, DMVPN, S2S, L3VPN, VPLS)

  • Experience with Routing protocols EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP

  • Experience installing and implementing Cisco WAN/LAN routers/switches: Ex. ASRs, ISRs, Catalysts, NXOS, Nexus.

  • Strong level of understanding of VLANs, trunking, Quality of Service, static/dynamic routing and high availability configurations.

  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and managing SharePoint sites, including team sites, communication sites, and document libraries.

  • Skilled in SharePoint Online administration, including user permissions, site collections, and content management.

  • Relocation to CENTCOM AOR for the duration of the contract (3 years).

  • Travel required within assigned country within CENTCOM AOR.

Clearance Requirements

Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment. The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 110,000 USD per year (San Diego, CA (FSI))
