Job description

Metrohm Spectro is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Systems Software Developer to design, develop, and support software applications, automation tools, ERP integrations, and operational analytics systems that improve manufacturing efficiency, inventory visibility, and production planning. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys building practical software solutions that directly impact real-world manufacturing operations. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations to develop applications, automate workflows, create data-driven tools, and improve the systems that support production execution and supply chain operations. Projects include:

  • ERP integrations and workflow automation
  • Manufacturing dashboards and analytics applications
  • SQL and Power BI reporting systems
  • Python-based automation and data processing tools
  • Production planning and inventory visibility applications
  • Engineering change and revision control workflows
  • Custom manufacturing and operational software utilities

This is a highly hands-on technical role with significant opportunity to influence operational systems architecture and software strategy. The position reports directly to the Director of Operations., Software Development & Automation

  • Design, develop, and maintain internal software tools supporting manufacturing, inventory management, procurement, and operational planning
  • Develop Python applications, scripts, and automation tools to streamline operational workflows and reduce manual processes
  • Create integrations between ERP systems, reporting platforms, and manufacturing processes
  • Develop custom reporting applications, dashboards, and analytics tools using SQL, Power BI, Power Query, and related technologies
  • Build data extraction, transformation, and reporting utilities for operational analysis
  • Support development of automated workflows for engineering change management, inventory control, and production planning

ERP & Manufacturing Systems Development

  • Support and enhance ERP/MRP systems functionality, reporting, and workflow automation
  • Develop and maintain custom ERP reports, queries, scripts, and integrations
  • Improve ERP-related workflows involving BOMs, routings, work travelers, inventory management, and production planning
  • Troubleshoot ERP system issues, reporting inconsistencies, and data integration problems
  • Collaborate with operations teams to improve system usability, automation, and operational visibility

Operational Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop dashboards and operational analytics tools that support manufacturing and supply chain decision-making
  • Create data models and reporting structures that improve visibility into inventory, production scheduling, material shortages, and operational performance
  • Analyze operational data to identify process improvement opportunities and automation candidates
  • Support ad-hoc analytics and reporting requests across departments

Systems Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing workflows through software solutions and automation
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to improve process consistency and data flow
  • Assist with development of scalable operational systems and reporting infrastructure
  • Contribute to long-term ERP and manufacturing systems strategy

Requirements

Do you have experience in Teamwork?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field

  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Strong programming experience with Python
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Experience developing reporting, analytics, or automation solutions
  • Experience building internal business applications, automation tools, or system integrations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems in manufacturing environments
  • Experience with Power BI and Power Query
  • Experience with API integrations and workflow automation
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environments
  • Familiarity with BOMs, routings, inventory systems, or production planning concepts
  • Experience with Fishbowl ERP, Dynamics 365, or similar ERP platforms
  • Experience developing operational dashboards or manufacturing analytics systems

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year, * 401(k)
