Mobile Application Developer

Freight brokers put an incredible amount of trust in Highway and that trust will be extended to you. The React Native Mobile Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining our React Native app. This role is best suited for someone comfortable working with a modern TypeScript code base and collaborating closely with product and design teams.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain mobile app features with React Native, Expo, and TypeScript.
• Test and validate mobile application functionality across IOS and Android platforms.
• Collaborate with the team through daily standup, code reviews, and technical planning.
• Own Jira stories and communicate progress effectively.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1-4 years of experience building mobile applications with React Native.
• Familiarity with the Expo ecosystem, including Expo Router, development builds, and native modules.
• Comfortable using Git across the development lifecycle, including branching, commits, pull requests, code review, and merges.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to App Store and Play Store release process.
• Familiarity with push notifications and universal links.
• Experience with Zustand, React Query, or similar state management libraries.
• Collection of analytics with Firebase, Sentry or similar observability tools.
• Automated end to end testing experience.
