Job description
Under the general direction of the Network Administrator II, the Network Administrator I is responsible for helping to ensure the stable, secure operation, and high availability of computer networks utilized by WPCU and myCUmortgage.

Providing hardware and software technical support to all users and providing 2nd tier support for LAN/WAN problems, system communication problems and PC support. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated. (40%)

Performing network and system administration (physical and virtual). (20%)

Administration of the Storage Area Network (SAN) and backup storage solution (20%)

Managing 3rd party professional services vendors. (10%)

Manage technological projects as assigned. (10%)
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Windows Server administration?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills: Network Performance Tuning, LAN/WAN Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Problem Solving, Strategic Planning, Multi-tasking, Quality Focus, Coordination, Technical Understanding, Quick Study, Technical Zeal. The following are also required:

An Associate's Degree and 2 years' experience. Candidates who present an equivalent combination of formal training and experience specific to Information Technology may also be considered

Must possess a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or better

Internet experience that includes the setup and management of a high-speed Internet connection

Experience with Microsoft Server 2012 or better

Experience with VMWare ESX version 6 or better a plus

Cisco UCS experience a plus

Experience in the management and design of mid-sized networks or greater

Hardware and OS experience: Microsoft, IBM compatible PC's with Windows 10 or better, Cisco switches and routers, network printers, and IBM Mid-Range computers

Veeam backup skills a plus

Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle

Ability to pass background check for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) or Department of Defense (DoD) in order to acquire "Contractor" badge is required
