Ai Engineer

Insight Global is assisting a client in finding an AI Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity in Kennesaw, GA. This role will spend their time advancing AI capabilities across their organization. They will be centered on designing and building cutting-edge AI solutions, with a strong emphasis on NLP, Generative AI, and document intelligence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing end-to-end pipelines-from prototyping models to deploying scalable, production-ready solutions-while leveraging modern techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems, particularly within document-heavy environments like claims and underwriting and play a key role in shaping the organization's AI strategy and technical foundation.

• Partner with business and technology teams to identify AI-driven solutions
• Design, develop, test, and deploy Generative AI and NLP applications
• Build document intelligence solutions (summarization, extraction, classification)
• Develop RAG pipelines to enable AI-based question answering from documents
• Create scalable APIs and reusable AI services
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate AI into enterprise systems
• Build and maintain data pipelines for AI workloads
• Tune models for performance, scalability, and production readiness
• Implement monitoring, governance, and quality controls
• Prototype new AI use cases and evaluate business impact
• Document architecture, designs, and best practices
• Stay current on emerging AI/ML technologies and frameworks

• 1+ year experience working on product-based AI solutions (building and deploying models)
• Strong experience with NLP model development
• Proficiency in Python development
• Experience building and interacting with APIs
• Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, and model prototyping
• Understanding of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures
• Ability to build, test, and deploy AI solutions into production
• Experience working with scalable AI systems and performance tuning
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with R programming
• Exposure to Azure AI / Azure Foundry
• Background in Machine Learning engineering concepts
• Experience with Vision APIs / document processing solutions
• Knowledge of claims and underwriting systems
• Experience building enterprise search, knowledge retrieval, or Q&A systems
• Familiarity with data pipelines supporting AI/ML workflows
• Experience working in heavily regulated environments (insurance/finance)
• Ability to prototype rapidly and evaluate emerging AI tools
