Job description
We are building our technical team in advance of contract award and are seeking an exceptionally qualified Senior Microsoft Cloud Engineer to serve as a key technical resource on this engagement., You will serve as the senior technical lead for a Microsoft cloud environment supporting approximately 300 end users. This is a hands-on, independent role - not a management or advisory-only position. Responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and operate Microsoft 365, Azure, and Microsoft Security platforms for a federal agency environment
- Manage hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID, including Conditional Access, Privileged Access Management, and MFA configuration (including SmartCard/FIDO-based authentication)
- Administer Intune for Windows, macOS, and iOS endpoints (700+ endpoints), including Autopilot deployment, compliance policies, and software delivery
- Configure and manage Microsoft Defender, Sentinel (including data source management, ingest health monitoring, and alerting), and Purview for threat protection, data governance, and information protection
- Support Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft 365 collaboration services
- Implement and maintain Azure infrastructure and hybrid integrations
- Apply Zero Trust architecture principles aligned with NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-207
- Maintain FedRAMP Moderate security controls and support audit/compliance readiness
- Build Power BI dashboards for systems health, compliance, spend monitoring, and utilization reporting
- Develop incident response and disaster recovery playbooks integrated into agency COOP documentation
- Configure Azure budget alerts with 90-day lead time for spend forecasting
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, change control records, and training materials
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS support?, This role has a strict certification requirement. All of the following Microsoft certifications must be active and must have been maintained for a minimum of 5 continuous years (or equivalent predecessor certifications):
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate

Additional Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Tier 2 background investigation (conducted by U.S. Capitol Police) prior to start - no active security clearance required
- 700+ endpoint Intune environment experience required
- Demonstrated Autopilot deployment and software delivery via Intune
- Advanced PowerShell experience, including locking down remote PS access in Entra/Azure environments and Microsoft Graph API management
- Proven experience with SmartCard (PIV) and FIDO2 key authentication on Windows and macOS
- Proven experience managing Sentinel data sources and ingest quality monitoring
- Power BI dashboard development experience (health, compliance, spend, utilization)
- Experience with Azure budget configurations and spend forecasting
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to perform after-hours or weekend maintenance windows as needed
