Job description

Architectural Leadership & Development:

  • End-to-End Ownership: Design, develop, test, and implement high-performance backend microservices and RESTful APIs using Java Spring Boot, Node.js, and Tomcat.
  • Full-Stack Capability: Build and support full-stack solutions utilizing modern web technologies, including HTML5, CSS, and asynchronous API design.
  • Data Modeling: Architect and manage data layers across both traditional relational databases (PostgreSQL) and distributed NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
  • Code Quality & Mentorship: Actively participate in and lead code reviews, driving the adoption of clean code principles, robust design patterns, and rigorous coding standards.

Cloud & DevOps Engineering

  • Cloud Integration: Fully utilize the AWS ecosystem, including S3, EC2, EKS, and Lambda, to build resilient, fault-tolerant infrastructure.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Package applications using Docker and manage distributed enterprise workloads across Kubernetes (EKS) clusters.
  • CI/CD Automation: Standardize and optimize deployment pipelines using GitLab CI/CD to ensure seamless, automated software delivery.

Observability & Agile Collaboration

  • Production Excellence: Implement enterprise-grade logging, monitoring, and tracing solutions to proactively debug and troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate deeply within cross-functional Agile teams and partner with Product and Business stakeholders to refine requirements and scope technical deliverables.

Requirements

  • Backend Expertise: 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, with deep, production-proven expertise in Java Spring Boot and Node.js.
  • Cloud Architecture: Strong, hands-on experience with architectural tooling within AWS (specifically S3, EC2, EKS, and Lambda).
  • Containers & Orchestration: Proficient with Docker and production-grade Kubernetes management.
  • Database Management: Expert knowledge of database design using both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) systems, knowing precisely when to leverage each.
  • CI/CD & Version Control: Solid experience establishing and maintaining robust automation workflows within GitLab.
  • API Design: Deep understanding of RESTful API principles, JSON data structures, and microservice communication patterns.

Education: Bachelor''''''''s or Master''''''''s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

About the company

GlobalLogic estimates the starting pay range for this role to be performed in Denver, CO, to be $120,000 to $125,000, and reflects base salary only. This pay range is provided as a good-faith estimate, and the amount offered may be higher or lower. GlobalLogic takes many factors into consideration in making an offer, including candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, travel and onsite requirements, internal peer equity, prevailing wage, responsibilities, and other market and business considerations.
