Job description
Applies engineering and technical principles to the design and development of computer networks, cyber security infrastructure, telecommunications, information technology systems and tools, and database systems. Analyzes, installs, integrates, modifies, and supports all associated systems, networks, software, and databases. Plans and conducts projects after analysis of functional and operational requirements. May consult with and lead cross-functional teams.
Other responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain Enterprise level configuration management systems for Windows environments.
- Engineer, test, deploy, and manage client images and provisioning for Windows VDI deployments.
- A focus on automation, including advanced scripting at scale.
- Apply and implement STIG policies required through NNSA oversight and familiar with SCAP and STIG review toolsets.
- Provide engineering expertise and escalation for technical support teams.
- Develop and assess innovative solutions for business-driven projects and initiatives.
- Develop and implement collaborative and cloud approach thinking to applications and data leveraging future integrations with cloud services in an air gapped and virtualized environment.
- Troubleshoot, research, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Write procedures and documentation for processes to aid in troubleshooting and review.
- Participate in peer reviews by sharing your work and providing feedback to others while also working well in team environments to achieve shared common goals.
- As necessary, perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- BS/BA and 2 years of relevant experience -OR-
- MS/MA -OR-
- PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a complex, user experience focused Enterprise environment at scale.
- Experience managing Microsoft Gold Image Windows desktop environments and vulnerability management including Tenable integration.
- Nutanix AHV configuration and Implementation experience in air gapped environments.
- Horizon / Omnissa virtualization implementation experience within isolated environments.
- DISA STIG implementation and review validation monitoring as well as experience with Open RMF tools for status evaluations of compliance measures.
- Demonstrated ability to self-direct, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems with innovative solutions.
- Customer service oriented and approachable.
- Experience in one or more languages: PowerShell, Bash, Python or other languages to run tasks, perform actions, and automate procedures.
- Knowledgeable of commercial Cloud environments such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft O365.
- Exceptional communicator with both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Additional Information:
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
A security clearance background investigation includes review of your employment, education, financial, and criminal history, as well as interviews with you and your personal references, neighbors, and co-workers to determine trustworthiness, reliability, and loyalty to the United States. The investigation also examines your foreign connections, drug and alcohol use, foreign influence, and overall conduct.

- Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance with 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.
- Drug Testing: All Security Clearance positions are Testing Designated Positions, which means that the applicant selected for hire is subject to pre-employment drug testing, and post-employment random drug testing. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
Note: Applicants will be considered ineligible for security clearance processing by the U.S. Department of Energy if non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for 12 months cannot be demonstrated., If you have not resided in the U.S. for three consecutive years, you are not eligible for the PIV credential and instead will need to obtain a favorable Local Site Specific Only (LSSO) Federal risk determination to maintain employment. Once you meet the three-year residency requirement thereafter, you will be required to obtain a PIV credential to maintain employment. The tier of federal background investigation required to obtain the PIV credential will be determined by job duties at the time you become eligible for the PIV credential.
