- Responsible for leading design, development, and execution of tests for products (hardware, software, systems) to ensure quality, functionality, reliability, creating test plans, writing test cases, identifying defects and collaborating with development teams for fixes, ultimately ensuring products meet specifications and user needs before delivery.
- Lead Test Planning & Design: Understand requirements, define scope, objectives, and resources, then create detailed test plans, strategies, and procedures.
- Lead Test Case Development: Write specific test cases and scripts for various tests (functional, performance, security, etc.).
- Lead Test Execution: Run tests, monitor the development and production process, and manage controlled testing environments.
- Lead Defect Management: Identify, document, report, and track software/hardware and product defects.
- Lead Collaboration & Feedback: Work with developers, process engineers, and management to provide insights, suggest improvements, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Lead Reporting: Analyze results, document findings, prepare and presenting Test engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews.
- Interact daily with other technical leads, program managers, planners, technicians, and other engineers.
- Driving tasks to completion independently
- Collaborating with others within the workgroup, with other departments, and the customer.
- Provide tasking to junior systems engineering team on your program and mentorship to support task completion.
- Travel in support of project execution and testing as required, up to 15%.
Requirements
The Electronic Systems (ES) engineering team has an immediate opening for a mid-senior level Systems Test Engineer to support the growing Simulation and Training Team. As a member of the Simulation and Training Team, the systems test engineer supports engineering development projects to deliver on our program commitments and release the capabilities to our military customers. This is an interdisciplinary role, enabling the full life cycle development of our products. This role may include supporting development of new products and product upgrades, integration and test, and development of fielding solutions for our military and commercial customers. Required experience includes hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, and successfully working within a collaborative team environment. A desire to take ownership of design efforts to ensure integration of capabilities into the product is essential. As a lead systems test engineer, you will perform standard systems test engineering tasks with the addition of project lead responsibilities such as project engineering, task lead, and potential management of direct reports., * Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related technical field) with 5 or more years related experience or master's degree in engineering (or related technical field) with 3 or more years related experience or Ph.D. in Engineering (or related technical field) with up to 2 years' related experience.
- Two (2) years demonstrated project leadership experience preferred
- Experience with hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, or architecture design
- Executing test engineering tasks - including (but not limited to) requirements analysis, design review support, formal validation planning, test, verification, risk management, and engineering analysis.
- Preparing and presenting test engineering work products - including (but not limited to) test plans, procedures, and reports to internal review teams and external customers.
- Serving as a resource to others within the department and the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with DOORS, JIRA, and MagicDraw (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Effective writing and presentation skills.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio).
- Active Secret Clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required.

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is
$110,500 - $167,900 per year.
