Job description

ATG Europe is seeking a Platform Engineer to support their client in Arganda del Rey (Madrid), Spain. This role involves overseeing telecommunications satellite programs, participating in platform subsystem design, and preparing RFPs for satellite services., * Support definition and oversight of telecommunications satellite programs.

  • Prepare RFPs and technical evaluations for satellite services.
  • Participate in weekly reports and various review meetings., We are looking for a Platform Engineer on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Arganda del Rey (Madrid), Spain.

As part of the SpaceRISE consortium, our client plays a central role in the IRIS² programme, leading the design, development and implementation of the ground segment, including the infrastructure needed to manage the constellation and connect it with terrestrial networks. The company is also responsible for service operations, such as defining the service catalogue, establishing procedures and developing delivery models for member states.

In addition, our client leads the Low LEO segment, supporting innovative missions that strengthen the European space ecosystem. To meet its growing responsibilities, the company is progressively building a dedicated IRIS² team, currently composed of more than 40 professionals.

This role requires relocation and on-site presence at the Satellite Control Centre in Arganda del Rey (Madrid). Note: The successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider. Responsibilities

  • Support the definition, design, development and oversight of a telecommunications satellite constellation program in the area of Satellite Platform Engineering.
  • Support the definition, design and development of platform subsystems based on satellite technology.
  • Prepare the Satellite and Launch Services Request for Proposal (RFP) and the associated technical evaluation.
  • Prepare and participate in all platform unit design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
  • Prepare and participate in all platform subsystem design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
  • Prepare and participate in all system design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
  • Prepare and participate in the launch campaign.
  • Prepare and participate in the LEOP.
  • Prepare and participate in the In Orbit Test Campaign.
  • Support the on-orbit satellite health status assessment and coordination of anomaly investigation.
  • Prepare weekly reports of activities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a Master's degree in Aerospace or similar, have over 10 years of experience in relevant positions, and be fluent in English. Join ATG in fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace., * Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar is required.

  • 10 years of experience in platform procurement or similar role.

  • Experience with GEO and LEO operations is essential., Programming languages skills (Python, Matlab or similar) Experience in managing large EU and ESA projects Demonstrated knowledge in platform equipment design 10+ years of experience in relevant position Fluency in English, * Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar.

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar position with hands-on experience or exposure in either platform procurement, platform equipment manufacturing or platform in-orbit operations in GEO and/or LEO.

  • Experience in managing large EU and ESA projects.

  • Programming languages skills (Python, Matlab or similar).

  • Demonstrated knowledge in the area of platform equipment design, manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing at unit, subsystem and satellite levels.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of satellite system related activities (e.g., system budgets, radiation, EMC & ESD).

  • Demonstrated skills in the area of Satellite manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing at system level.

  • Demonstrated skills in the area of Satellite LEOP operations.

  • Demonstrated skills in the area of Satellite Platform In-Orbit Testing.

  • Willing and able to travel for business needs as required to various locations such as ESA ESTEC, European Commission, Manufacturer facilities and Launch Base.

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU.

  • Candidates must have or be eligible to obtain Personal Security Clearance (PSC) up to ESA SECRET / EU SECRET.

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

  • Any other European language is considered an asset.
