Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Design Engineer with a focus on electrical panel design and control systems to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in CAD design, PLC programming, and end-to-end control system specification. You will be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle - from concept and design through to site commissioning., * Design and develop control panels using electrical AutoCAD.

  • Create complete system design specifications based on customer requirements.
  • PLC and HMI programming. Rockwell & Siemens Preferred
  • Support the build and testing of control panels.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to deliver projects on time and to specification.
  • Provide on-site commissioning and support during installation and start-up phases.
  • Ensure all designs and systems comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Produce documentation including wiring diagrams, BOMs, functional design specifications, and test protocols.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical panel design and system integration
  • Proficient in CAD software
  • Experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems and electrical schematics
  • Willingness to travel for occasional site commissioning (UK-based, occasional international)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience with SCADA
  • Familiarity with machinery safety standards and regulations
  • Background in automation, manufacturing, or process control industries

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
