Job description

The State Superintendent invites qualified and interested candidates to apply for the position of Specialist, Technology. The Office of Technology supports the vision for Camden City School District by ensuring that students and employees of the district have access to high quality technology to drive student learning and employee productivity. Reporting to the Senior Officer Technology and working closely with other central office departments, the Specialist, Technology ("Specialist") is responsible for supporting efficient, high-quality implementation of the district's technology infrastructure approach. The Specialist will play an integral role in supporting the day to day operations of select technology equipment, installation and disposal of technology hardware and software. The Specialist will support technology implementation and literacy through professional development for central office and school-based staff., + Tracks and monitors equipment throughout its life cycle, as directed by the Senior Officer Technology

  • Liaises as district point of contact with vendors who provide specific software applications to provide peripheral support and some application software support; this includes but may not be limited to the district's ERP software, virtual docuware solutions, student information systems, and district time and attendance

  • Provides technical assistance to Senior Officer Technology and other district stakeholders to ensure that IT initiatives align with district priorities

  • Executes systems and processes that are strategically positioned and aligned with district priorities

  • Implements and executes on a rigorous process for standardization of technology equipment and end user devices, where appropriate, throughout the district

  • Supports and executes on asset management initiatives across the district to eliminate wasteful spending and improve efficiencies

  • Monitors and tracks instructional technology programs across schools for the purpose of analyzing the impact between the district's investment in instructional technologies and instructional goals and outcomes

  • Provides technical assistance to staff on a variety of district-specific software solutions, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, OneNote, Google Apps, Yammer, etc.

  • Supports projects and initiatives in other divisions and departments throughout the district on an as-needed basis

  • Possible exposure to cleaning agents, instructional materials, and equipment-related chemicals. Terms of Employment Twelve-month position. Salary, benefits, and conditions of employment shall be in accordance with Board policy and applicable agreements. Evaluation Performance shall be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy, administrative regulations, and district leadership procedures. Reports To: Senior Officer Technology

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in WAN?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, + High school diploma

  • Certification preferred in at least one of the following areas: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)

  • At least 3-5 years of IT work experience in the following areas: architecture design and implementation; product lifecycle management; planning & operations; LAN, WAN, MAN, SAN and VOIP management

  • Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic Web browsers and searches

  • A valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration

  • Required criminal history background check, TB test and physical, and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status Preferred Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field), + Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Comfort and experience with entering data into online systems

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills, combined with a focus on customer satisfaction

  • Flexible, optimistic approach; committed to overcoming challenges; comfortable with change and ambiguity

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously

3.53.5 out of 5 stars Camden, NJ $75,000 - $100,000 a year, Minimum Starting Salary: $75,000.00 Maximum Starting Salary: $100,000.00 Residency Requirement Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment. Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire. Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011 are exempt from this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state. In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed.
