Job Purpose: The Development Manager (DM) plays a vital role in advancing JFCS's mission through strategic fundraising, donor engagement, volunteer leadership, and community relationship-building. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the DM will help execute integrated fundraising initiatives that support organizational growth, deepen community engagement, and strengthen long-term philanthropic support.
This highly collaborative and externally facing role is responsible for driving revenue growth and engagement across JFCS's signature fundraising initiatives - Ride to Fight Hunger, Celebration Dinner, and the Women's Philanthropy Initiative. The DM will cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners while helping to build a sustainable pipeline of supporters and future leaders.

Duties & Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
· Execute annual fundraising and engagement strategies that drive growth and increase community participation.
· Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners; achieve fundraising goals including those for event sponsorship.
· Manage/grow fundraising for Ride to Fight Hunger, Celebration Dinner, and Women's Philanthropy initiatives.
· Identify and develop new corporate sponsorship opportunities and strategic community partnerships.
· Support the CEO and CDO in annual fund, endowment, and major gift strategies.
· Develop sponsorship proposals, donor communications, event collateral, and fundraising materials.
· Manage fundraising event platforms and collaborate on updates to the agency website and digital fundraising content.
· With CEO and CDO, develop donor and volunteer communications, including newsletters and stewardship outreach.
· Track and analyze fundraising performance metrics, donor engagement activity, and sponsorship growth to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
Volunteer Leadership & Community Engagement
· Partnering with Volunteer Manager and CDO, recruit, cultivate, and support volunteer leaders and fundraising committees.
· Foster strong relationships with volunteers, board members, sponsors, and community stakeholders to strengthen organizational visibility and engagement.
· Help build a pipeline of engaged volunteers, advocates, donors, and future lay leaders.
· Represent JFCS at community events, networking opportunities, and partnership meetings throughout Northern New Jersey.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Non-profit experience?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, · Bachelor's degree + 3-5 years fundraising experience within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
· Success in fundraising, sponsorship development, donor cultivation, event management, and achieving revenue goals.
· Experience managing large-scale fundraising events such as galas, peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, walks, rides, or community engagement events preferred.
· Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
· Experience working effectively with volunteer leaders, committees, and boards.
· Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in MS Office, familiarity with donor databases and fundraising platforms (DonorPerfect, Rallybound, CRM).
· Knowledge of the Northern New Jersey philanthropic and Jewish community landscape preferred.
· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel locally as needed.

Salary: $70,000-$75,000
