Job description
We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer Staff to join the team at our Palmdale site. The engineer will:
- Manage isolated (closed) environments for assigned programs
- Perform systems administration, infrastructure deployments, and performance tuning on Linux, Windows Server, VMware ESXi, and EMC storage platforms
- Lead optimization efforts as air-gapped environments scale, driving improvements without negative impact to mission objectives.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows support?, * Active Top Secret security clearance
- U.S. citizenship (required for this facility), * Active Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SCI.
- Ability to obtain Security+ Certification within 90-days of start.
- U.S. Citizenship required
- 5 + years administering RHEL 8 (or equivalent) and Windows Server 2022/Windows 11
- Automation expertise with Ansible and PowerShell (scripting, config drift remediation)
- Hands on implementation of DISA STIGs and use of security tools (e.g., Nessus, Trellix, Ivanti, Splunk) in large, enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with virtualization and/or hyperconverged infrastructure (e.g., VMware vSphere/vCenter, Horizon, vSAN/VxRail, Nutanix, Open Shift
- Ability to lift 30 lb (rack mount hardware)
Desired Skills:
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Advanced certifications: RHCSA/RHCE, Azure AZ 800, AWS SysOps, VMware VCP (or similar)
- Enterprise storage administration (NetApp/EMC) and disaster recovery procedures
- Monitoring/observability platforms (Dynatrace, Nagios, Prometheus Grafana, Splunk)
- Ability to lead IT teams and projects

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
