Job description

This is a rare hybrid role: part builder, part operator, part technical consultant. You'll be based in our HQ in Menlo Park, CA, but travel to customer sites, earn the trust of clinical and technical stakeholders, and ship production-grade AI into live healthcare workflows. If you thrive on ambiguity, move fast, and care deeply about the outcomes your work creates, this is the role you've been looking for., * You'll turn clinical chaos into working AI. Healthcare workflows are messy, underdocumented, and high-stakes. You'll walk into that complexity, ask the right questions, and walk out with a solution architecture that actually scales - then build it.

  • You'll put conversational AI into the hands of patients and providers. From RAG pipelines to multi-agent systems to real-time voice, you'll deploy AI that people interact with directly in clinical settings - and you'll own whether it works.
  • You'll become the customer's most trusted technical partner. Embedded on-site, you're not just a vendor - you're the person clinical and engineering teams call when something needs to get done. That relationship is yours to build and yours to keep.
  • You'll shape how Hippocratic AI deploys at scale. Every engagement you run generates insight. You'll feed that back into product, AI research, and clinical teams, directly influencing how the platform evolves and how future deployments succeed faster.

Responsibilities

  • Scope and architect AI solutions for ambiguous, high-stakes clinical problems - from first conversation to production spec
  • Build and deploy RAG pipelines, multi-agent workflows, and real-time conversational AI systems integrated into live clinical environments
  • Ensure interoperability with healthcare data standards and platforms (EHR systems, FHIR, HL7)
  • Own system monitoring, performance tuning, and iterative improvement post-deployment
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, AI research, and clinical safety teams to surface field insights and close feedback loops
  • Navigate complex stakeholder environments - clinical, operational, and technical - with clarity and credibility
  • When needed, travel to customer sites and serve as Hippocratic AI's embedded technical presence across the full deployment lifecycle, * The mission is real. We're not optimizing ad clicks - we're working on one of the most consequential applications of AI in a generation. Healthcare access is broken, and this team is serious about fixing it.
  • You'll work alongside exceptional people. Our team brings together top AI researchers, clinical experts, and engineers who've built at the highest levels. The bar is high, and it makes the work better.
  • You'll have strategic visibility. This role puts you at the intersection of customer reality and product direction. What you learn in the field shapes what gets built - your leverage extends well beyond your own deployments.
  • Equity upside at an inflection point. We're early, we're well-funded, and the trajectory is steep. Joining now means joining with meaningful ownership in what comes next.

Requirements

Do you have experience in System deployment?, * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field from a Tier-1 university

  • 0-2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with production deployments you can speak to in depth
  • Demonstrated experience building with LLMs - RAG architectures, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, or fine-tuning
  • Proficiency in Python and comfort working across the full stack when the situation demands it
  • Experience integrating with APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong communication skills - you can explain a technical architecture to an engineer and a clinical director in the same afternoon, * Experience in healthcare technology, digital health, or clinical environments
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards: FHIR, HL7, EHR integrations
  • Exposure to voice AI systems or real-time conversational platforms
  • Experience in a customer-facing engineering, solutions engineering, or forward deployment role
  • Comfort operating in early-stage, high-ambiguity environments where the playbook is still being written
