Job description
The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) Office of Security Management (OSM) is requiring the services of aCyber Engineer to support OSM in coordinating the adoption and implementation of centrally provided cyber securityServices. The Cyber Engineer will support the implementation and design of the state's overall cyber engineering efforts and is responsible for the statewide cyber services. This position serves as a subject matter expert on all aspects of cyber engineering and centralized cyber service development participates in cross functional teams as a cyber engineer.This position serves as a subject matter expert on all aspects of cyber engineering and centralized cyber service development participates in cross functional teams as a cyber engineer. Core responsibilities include but not limited to, Serve as a core contributor on multi-disciplinary project teams (internal staff and contractor staff) to improve theState cybersecurity services/solutions and respective implementation, including requirements development.
Work with stakeholders to assess legacy systems and identify opportunities for improved cyber security of future systems.
Lead technical solutioning to address agency intake requests and operational requirements.
Assess solutions for implementation within the State as part of centralized services.*
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical solutions implementation?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred.
*General Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in cyber security.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
*Specialized Experience:
Specific experience in engineering and implementing cyber solutions.
Experience working in cross functional teams as a cyber engineer.
Experience leading solution assessment and requirements development and alignment.
*Preferred Qualifications:
Cyber Engineer
Graduate degree or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
Experience as a cyber engineer supporting Endpoint Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Firewall, (P)DNS,SSL, CDN, and other core cyber services.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts. Project management skills, with experience in planning, scheduling, and monitoring the delivery of cybersecurityservices.*Candidates chosen for an interview will have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universitywith a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific ortechnical discipline, and will meet the requirements of General and Specialized experience listed above.
