Job description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Mainframe Developer) with a strong background in IBM Mainframe technologies to join a growing enterprise team. This role is primarily focused on Mainframe development and modernization, requiring deep expertise in COBOL and the broader Mainframe ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale enterprise applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment., * Design, develop, test, and support enterprise software applications and enhancements.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable Mainframe solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize COBOL-based applications within IBM Mainframe environments.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and production support activities.
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and development teams on system enhancements and modernization initiatives.
- Follow Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and software engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on IBM Mainframe technologies.
- Hands-on experience with COBOL (required).
- Strong knowledge of the Mainframe ecosystem, including:
(CICS, JCL, DB2, TSO/ISPF, ChangeMan, Topaz, IBM Mainframe development tools)
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
- Experience working with AWS Cloud.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with API Management tools.
- Knowledge of Git and BitBucket.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications.
- Experience working with enrollment, customer, vendor, or healthcare-related data integrations.
