Job description
- Provide guidelines on design, planning, capacity management, and deployment of GSM, UMTS, LTE and NR networks for the Field.
- Develop national or regional standards, documents, processes, and practices.
- Conduct and manage design reviews and operation reviews with all markets in the region.
- Perform 5G designs for the region and will support new technology market launch.
- Develop regional standards, documents, processes, and practices that provide details on a variety of RF engineering topics that will be used by regions and markets.
- Drive consistency across multiple planning tools and address data integrity issues across planning and deployment databases.
- Interpret technical specifications in accordance with Wireless industry standards, including 3GPP, ITUT, IETF, and ANSI, in order to establish wireless network designs and provide technical leadership for LTE/5G network architecture and protocols as well as future technologies roadmap.
- Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. 5% of national travel is required for meetings at the office location. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.
Requirements
- (1) Utilizing RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory;
- (2) Utilizing 3G/LTE RAN structure and Radio network performance KPIs (Accessibility, Retainability, Usage, and Mobility), performing L3 analysis, and SON related features and functionality;
- (3) Utilizing Ericsson platforms, including 2G, 3G & LTE OSS, as well as Ericsson AMOS commands;
- (4) Managing VoLTE Optimization/Performance, including the implementation of SIP messaging utilizing Ericsson's advanced features and Special Event management;
- (5) Creating RAN report ICSU/GPEH/ UEH/UETR/CTR Trace analysis of networks, encompassing features from multiple Ericsson releases;
- (6) Utilizing different vendors' small cells and NOKIA / ALU product line and inter-operability; and
- (7) Utilizing MapInfo, Actix, and Asset to implement Ericsson EDOS tools; utilizing Excel macros and programming in SQL.
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication, or a related field, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication, or a related field, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
