Job description

The IT Network Security Engineer assists with network security operations to host and network based controls, such as but not limited to antivirus, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Application Whitelisting, Firewall, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Security Incident and Event Monitoring (SIEM), Network Monitoring, etc. Analyze, investigate and resolve or document vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion. Generate reports and documentation of activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Computer Science, Information Systems, Information/Cybersecurity or related focused technical training

  • 5 years Security and network engineering/administration
  • 3 years Endpoint security products and LAN/WAN administration, including firewall configuration
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking: networking topology, protocols and services
  • Familiarity with security best practice standards such as the Center for Internet Security (CIS) Top 20 Critical Security Controls, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FFIEC Regulatory Cybersecurity Standards, FIPS, ITIL and COBIT
  • Experience in scripting and Command-Line Interface (CLI)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems
  • Broad knowledge of computers and software applications
  • Extensive network security technical skills
  • Knowledge of configuration and implementation of Cisco-based routers, switches and wireless access
  • Understanding Network configurations and ability to troubleshoot
  • Understanding endpoint protection
  • Ability to document security procedures. Knowledge and experience of Unified Threat Management, SIEM technologies, Virtualization, Windows Desktop and Server operating systems, firewall technologies, application layer security controls, and IDS/IPS technologies
  • CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional

Preferences:

  • Ethical Hacking training desired
  • Experience securing servers and workstations in a Citrix environment
  • Knowledge of and experience in SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle)
  • Powershell and BASH
  • Security focused area
