The Engineering team at SmithRx is developing the next- modern pharmacy benefits management (PBM) platform that will change how companies administer and manage pharmacy benefits. Our unified technology platform provides real-time actionable insights that drives cost savings, powers clinical services and results in a brilliant customer experience. A unified technology platform exists nowhere in the pharmacy benefit ecosystem to programmatically solve widespread deficiencies. The result is a PBM delivering unmatched service quality and operational efficiencies that exceeds all industry standards., As a Senior Staff Automation Engineer you will have responsibility for the overall test strategy of the products you test. You have an automation-first mindset, leveraging your experience to determine where to add tests to best maximize impact. You will create automated tests to help build and improve our regression test suites. Not only will you help maintain these frameworks, but you will constantly look to improve them so they are reliable, efficient, and easy to use. You will be focused on the automation ecosystem as a whole, evaluating how all test frameworks work together while defining the architectural standards for automation. While embedded in your sprint team you will be the primary quality advocate who champions best practices in testing, develops deep product knowledge, and consistently delivers high quality code to our users. You take ownership of complex cross-cutting projects by creating comprehensive test strategies and communicating quality status with all stakeholders. You will help maintain and improve our quality standards, constantly raise the bar, and show a passion for finding defects before they are shipped.
What you will do:
- Develop and maintain automated tests to help ensure high test coverage and fast feedback on defects
- Continuously maintain and improve our test frameworks
- Help define the test architecture across all test frameworks and tooling
- Manage test strategy, product testing, and planning within your sprint team
- Create testing-related documentation including test plans and test cases
- Find and report bugs and track these to resolution in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the Product team to provide valuable insight and input to help create impactful features
- Provide clear test results to Development and Product teams to help manage project expectations/progress
- Create and maintain security and performance tests
- Develop deep expertise in the SmithRx products
- Utilize AI tools like Playwright MCP, Claude, and Copilot to realize efficiencies in your daily work
- Maintain and refine quality metrics to help track and communicate overall product health
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 12+ years of experience in QA and automation testing with a demonstrated track record of team leadership
- Experience with one of the following : Python, Typescript, Java, or Javascript
- Experience with writing automated tests for API's in a scripting or programming
- Experience with API automation frameworks such as Pytest or REST Assured
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
- Familiarity with Page Object Model for UI automation
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins
