Job description
Responsible for the design, maintenance, accessibility, and continuous improvement of the District's website and digital communication systems. Ensures all public-facing information is accurate, compliant, accessible, and aligned with district standards. Supports internal and external communications through digital platforms, content development, and system management to enhance engagement with students, staff, families, and the community., * Design, maintain, and update the District and school websites to ensure content is:

Accurate, current, and user-friendly

Accessible and compliant with ADA (WCAG standards) and Education Code requirements

Ensure all required public-facing documents (e.g., board policies, reports, compliance postings) are properly published and maintained.

Monitor website functionality, accessibility, and performance; troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Collaborate with site and department staff to ensure consistency and quality across all web pages.

Provide guidance and training to staff responsible for updating site-level content.
Digital Systems & Communication Platforms

Manage district communication platforms including ParentSquare and website-integrated systems.

Ensure accurate, timely dissemination of information to families, staff, and community members.

Maintain oversight of digital communication workflows to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.

Support system-wide communication efforts and ensure alignment across all platforms. Content Development & Digital Media

Create and manage digital content for website and communication platforms, including: * News updates, announcements, and features

Photography and video production of district programs, events, and achievements
-
Ensure all content reflects district branding, voice, and messaging standards.
-
Support departments and sites with content creation and formatting for digital publication.
Social Media Oversight (Web-Connected Function)

Manage and monitor district social media platforms to ensure alignment with website content and district messaging.

Create and post content that highlights district programs, student achievements, and events.

Ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and consistency of public-facing messaging.

Respond to inquiries or route communications appropriately in accordance with district protocols. Communications Support

Draft, edit, and publish communications including announcements, newsletters, and web-based updates.

Ensure consistency and accuracy of messaging across all district platforms.

Serve as a coordination point for district-wide messaging and communication needs.

Support dissemination of information to internal and external stakeholders. Crisis Communication & Sensitive Information

Support communication efforts during emergencies or crisis situations through digital platforms.

Assist with timely updates to website and communication systems to ensure accurate public information.

Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive or high-profile communications.

Ensure messaging aligns with district direction and communication protocols.
Branding Standards & Compliance

Maintain and enforce district branding, formatting, and communication standards across all digital platforms.

Ensure all digital content meets accessibility, legal, and compliance requirements.

Support development of communication guidelines and best practices for staff use. Event & Community Engagement Support

Support district events by providing digital promotion, communication, and documentation.

Capture and publish event content (photos, videos, summaries) for website and communication platforms.

Assist in promoting district initiatives, programs, and community engagement efforts.
Training & Staff Support

Provide training and support to staff on website use, content posting, and communication tools.

Assist staff with ParentSquare, website updates, and digital communication best practices. *
Serve as a resource for troubleshooting and improving digital communication efforts. General Duties

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and communication logs.

Travel between district sites as needed.

Attend meetings, training, and events (including occasional evenings/weekends).

Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Website maintenance?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Website platforms (e.g., Edlio, WordPress, or similar CMS)

ADA accessibility requirements (WCAG standards) and public school compliance expectations

Digital communication systems (e.g., ParentSquare, mass notification tools)

Social media platforms and content management tools

Basic photography, videography, and graphic design principles

Google Workspace and school-related software systems
Ability to:

High school diploma or equivalent

College coursework or degree in communications, technology, media, or related field preferred

Experience with website management, digital communications, or content development preferred

Experience in a school district or public agency environment desirable Licenses and Requirements

Valid California Driver's License

Fingerprint/criminal justice clearance * Tuberculosis clearance

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Working Environment
The job functions are generally performed in indoor environments requiring the following significant physical abilities include sitting for extended periods, fine manual dexterity, talking and hearing, and understanding speech at reasonable volume. Near and far visual acuity, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision. Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 20 pounds. Reading printed matter and computer screens. Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation.
