Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Systems Manager to oversee and maintain our organisation's IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing server environments, ensuring information and network security, implementing disaster recovery plans, and leading a team of IT professionals. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead complex projects, optimise system performance, and support organisational growth through innovative technology solutions., * Manage and maintain server environments, including Windows Server, Linux, VMware, vSphere, and Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Oversee network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Cisco routers, firewalls, and network support systems.
  • Ensure robust information security protocols are in place to protect organisational data and assets.
  • Implement and manage network security measures such as firewalls, remote access software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Develop and execute disaster recovery strategies to minimise downtime and data loss.
  • Supervise the deployment of systems engineering projects using tools like SolarWinds, Active Directory, IIS, DHCP, and Azure cloud services.
  • Provide technical support across the organisation for hardware, software, desktop support issues using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and ServiceNow.
  • Lead a team of IT professionals through supervision and management responsibilities; foster a collaborative environment with strong leadership skills.
  • Coordinate project management activities using tools like Jira to ensure timely delivery of IT initiatives.
  • Analyse system performance metrics to optimise operations and plan future upgrades or enhancements.
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations and procedures in compliance with ITIL standards.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical support?, * Extensive experience in server management and systems engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of information security practices and network security protocols.
  • Proficiency with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure components such as Cisco routers, firewalls, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server, Azure, AWS, VMware vSphere, vSphere Client.
  • Proven ability in technical support roles involving computer networking and desktop support across Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience using Jira or ServiceNow for task tracking.
  • Leadership experience supervising IT teams; capable of motivating staff while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Analytical skills to assess system performance issues swiftly and implement effective solutions.
  • Organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
