Job description

Job description: Arrona Tech is seeking a motivated, mission-focused Senior Linux Administrator / Quality Assurance Linux Administrator Level 2 (QALA 2) to support the Panquake program in the Hanover, MD / Fort Meade area. This is a full-time W2, onsite role supporting a secure defense and intelligence mission environment. An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required at the time of application.

The Senior Linux Administrator will support mission-critical IT systems, Linux operating environments, client/server infrastructure, storage, network components, hardware troubleshooting, system monitoring, and operational problem resolution. This role supports multiple projects and efforts across lab, test, and live-product environments.

The ideal candidate will have heavy hands-on Linux experience, including bare-metal and virtual server stand-up, Red Hat/CentOS administration, bash scripting, Perl or Python, Puppet, virtualization, system troubleshooting, security compliance, SSP/ATO support, and maintenance of live operational systems. The candidate should be comfortable working directly with government leadership, technical teams, and local and remote customers across multiple time zones.

This role is a strong fit for a cleared Linux professional who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems, improving system reliability, automating repeatable tasks, supporting operational systems, and maintaining secure mission environments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.

  • Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server, storage, network, and hardware environments.

  • Configure, manage, install, and maintain Linux operating systems.

  • Load operating system software and support system builds across bare-metal and virtualized environments.

  • Troubleshoot Linux operating system, server, storage, network, hardware, and system performance issues.

  • Maintain system integrity and implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

  • Create bash shell scripts to improve system stability, automation, and deployment repeatability.

  • Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems.

  • Provide Tier 1 help desk problem identification, diagnosis, support, and resolution.

  • Support escalation and communication of issue status to agency management, government leadership, and internal customers.

  • Remain involved in hardware and system problem resolution from identification through closure.

  • Configure network components and support system connectivity.

  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization.

  • Perform system capacity analysis and planning.

  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets.

  • Support security compliance activities, including SSP-related requirements and ATO sustainment support.

  • Support migration to new baselines, incorporation of new technologies, and maintenance of live operational systems.

  • Build, update, and maintain health and monitoring dashboards where required.

  • Support lab/test environments as well as troubleshooting of live product systems.

  • Work with government leadership, local customers, remote customers, and internal technical teams to resolve infrastructure, application, and system issues.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Virtualization projects?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Must have an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with Polygraph at the time of application.

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is mandatory and not optional.

  • Candidates who do not currently hold an active TS/SCI with Polygraph cannot be considered for this position., * Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required at the time of application.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

  • Nine or more years of experience on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

  • Four additional years of relevant system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

  • Nine or more years of bash programming or bash scripting experience.

  • Seven or more years of Perl and/or Python programming experience.

  • Seven or more years of Linux administration experience, including Red Hat and/or CentOS 5 or greater.

  • Experience configuring, managing, installing, patching, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux operating systems.

  • Three or more years of virtualization experience.

  • Three or more years of experience with Puppet 3 or greater.

  • Experience supporting bare-metal and virtual server environments.

  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting client/server, storage, network, and hardware environments.

  • Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and operational support.

  • Experience supporting Tier 1 help desk problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.

  • Experience performing system optimization, resource utilization analysis, and capacity planning.

  • Experience creating scripts to improve system stability, automation, and deployment repeatability.

  • Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, XML, Java/J2EE, or related technologies.

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer support skills.

  • Experience with ticketing systems and escalation workflows.

  • Ability to work onsite in the Hanover, MD / Fort Meade area.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting security compliance, SSP requirements, ATO sustainment, or ATO renewal activities.

  • Experience working directly with government leadership or mission customers.

Compensation: $180k-230k annually, based on experience, qualifications, and contract requirements.
