Job description

The IT Service Technician plays a critical role inensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of data center environments. Thisposition is responsible for executing on-site build projects, supportingdeployments, and handling live production requests. The technician ensures thathardware installations, cabinet setups, and decommissions are performedefficiently and according to standard

What You'll do:

  • Technician is responsible for on-siteperformance of all build projects.

  • Beingon-site during normal businesshours.

  • Supportingboth new deployment or new builds, and live site/production requests.

  • Supportingcabinet installation and decommission as needed.

  • Supportingother operational activities approved by Tesla.

  • Managingincoming/outgoing shipments.

  • Maintainingdata center cleanliness and organization.

  • Installinghardware in production and staging environments.

  • Maintaininginventory systems, providing timely updates on inventory levels, and performingquarterly cycle counts.

  • Managingsite growth by keeping the data center organized.

Requirements

  • 3+years' experience deploying and supporting servers in a 24/7 production datacenter environment.

  • Stronganalytical skills.

  • Strongwritten and verbal communication skills.

  • Capableof working with minimal supervision.

  • Priorexperience in the installation of standard cabling technologies and rackinfrastructure including but not limited to seismic bracing, infrastructureaesthetics, and effective trouble shooting.

  • Unix/Linuxskills (preferred).

  • Understandingof cabling and telecommunications standards including IEEE/ANSI/TIA/EIA(strongly preferred).

The minimum salary for the IT Service Technician position is $39.74 per hour and the maximum salary for the position is $43.08 per hour. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
