Job description
Principal Network Engineer supporting RTX's Classified Network Services team, responsible for designing, administering, and securing enterprise LAN/WAN, data center, and firewall infrastructure across classified environments. The role supports critical collaboration and connectivity needs for Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and U.S. government customers, with a primary work location in Tewksbury, MA.
What You Will Do:

Maintain, and upgrade (software/firmware/hardware) LAN/WAN components including routers, switches, firewalls.

Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize network system performance, proactively identifying and quickly resolving service impacting issues.

Drive and/or participate in large projects in support of installation and/or improvement to voice, video, and network infrastructure.

Produce, update and generally improve technical documentation to support security requirements and operational support of systems.

Review systems vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with recognized industry standards and best practices.
Requirements

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Security Clearance: Candidate must possess an active DoD Secret clearance on Day 1 and maintain throughout employment and be potentially clearable through Top Secret.

Have a DoD 8570 - IAT .Level III security certification (e.g CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP) or able to obtain one within 6 months of employment
Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience as a Network Administrator in classified environments, supporting enterprise Cisco networking infrastructure.

Hands-on experience with Cisco NGFW, Cisco ASA, Nexus/NX-OS, Palo Alto firewalls, and LAN/WAN routing and switching technologies.

Experience with VPNs, HAIPE encryptors, ISE, CUCM/CMS, authentication services, network monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and network automation using Ansible or Python.
Benefits & conditions
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
